Want to learn more about how hop research is doing in our state? This University of Maryland and Brewers Association of Maryland Agricultural Resoures Committee (BAM ARC) field day will offer a hands-on look at the University’s hops and barley trials. Currently they’re growing 24 varieties of hops, and 4 varieties of barley.
Stop by to see the hop yard, learn about what varieties are doing well, and hear from Bryan Butler, the Extension Agent responsible for developing the trials. There will also be wagon rides over to the hop drying and pelletizing building. Food trucks will be on-site (lunch NOT included in ticket price: bring cash and cards), and there will be beer samples from breweries using Maryland ingredients.
Date: August 7, 2018
Where: University of MD Western Maryland Research Station, 18330 Keedysville Rd, Keedysville, MD 21756
Registration (includes tours and beer samples): $15.00 for BAM members; $20.00 for non-BAM members. Pre-registration is required; we will not offer ticket sales at the event.
Field day will be held rain or shine, so dress appropriately for being out in farm fields regardless of the weather.
