It’s that time! The 2019 Beer Competition is coming up! Remember that this competition is meant to be a way for all of our entrants to help elevate the perception of Maryland beer in the marketplace. Your participation in this competition is a great way to help support the hard work BAM does promoting our industry.
This year’s competition date is Saturday, July 14, 2019 and all entries will be due to the competition committee no later than Monday, July 8, 2019. Entries will be collected at Calvert Brewing Company in Upper Marlboro, MD from Monday, June 24, 2019 thru Monday, July 8, 2019. Registration will be up and running on June 1st , and will remain open through July 8th.
Since 2016, the Competition Committee has worked to present categories for this competition that are representative of market trends and allow for the exceptional creativity and execution of styles from Maryland brewers to be showcased. The 2019 competition categories are listed below, and will be further defined when you go to enter your beers though the competition software.
Again in 2019, breweries may enter no more than 10 entries to this competition. A reminder that breweries may now enter up to two entries in an individual category; for instance, Bob’s Brewery may enter both a Helles Lager and a Pilsner into the Pale Lager and Pilsner category. This activity would count as two entries and Bob’s Brewery would have 8 remaining entries.
