The Brewers Association of Maryland (BAM), founded in 1999, is the non-profit trade association of Maryland brewing companies. The mission of BAM is to promote and protect Maryland Beer.
The Brewers Association of Maryland currently produces two annual large-scale events; in Spring, The Maryland Craft Beer Festival on Carroll Creek in Downtown Frederick, and in Autumn, The Baltimore Craft Beer Festival in the heart of the City of Baltimore. Both of these events directly fund the mission of BAM, helping to promote the work of our state’s breweries and to progress legislation favoring this growing industry.
Brewing beer in Maryland dates back to the American colonial period when the first brewing company in the colony opened in Annapolis in 1703. With a rich history spanning more than 300 years, BAM is committed to continuing the proud tradition of crafting world-class beer in the Old Line State. Maryland craft breweries continue to grow and support local communities, from small business owners to the family farm. Please support #MDBeer.
How can you support our members? Visit the state’s breweries and purchase full pints of beer, order canned/bottled beers or crowlers/growlers to-go, and ask your favorite local restaurants and retailers to carry Maryland-brewed beer. Check our list of current member breweries and plan your tour of some Maryland breweries, today.
