The Brewers Association of Maryland’s mission is to grow, promote and protect the Maryland craft beer industry. To that end, we feel deeply responsible for ensuring the health and safety of each of our individual members, our partners, and you–our supporters.
For the last several weeks, news about COVID-19, and its spread around the globe, has introduced uncertainty to many of our member businesses and has directly impacted our planning for upcoming Brewers Association of Maryland events. Based on the guidelines provided by the White House, the CDC, the state government, and our local partners, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Maryland Craft Beer Festival in Frederick. While the May 9, 2020 date is scrubbed, we are working tirelessly to determine if there is a way that we can reschedule this event in 2020.
This was not an easy decision for us to make. Maryland’s beer industry relies on this annual event. Not only is the Maryland Craft Beer Festival a showcase of delicious Maryland beer and the talent of our member brewers, but it is also an integral fundraiser for the industry, allowing our association to continue our mission.
Supporters of the Maryland Craft Beer Festival who have already purchased their passes will be contacted in the coming days with specific details regarding their ticket purchase(s).
We ask that during the next few weeks you take any opportunity you have to directly support Maryland’s breweries. Ask for Maryland beer at your local beer retailer or visit your local brewery and purchase Maryland beer to enjoy at home.
