Guilford Hall is Seeking a Brewmaster!
Guilford Hall, located in the Greenmount West area of Baltimore, is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage all things beer. Guilford Hall is a brewery, a restaurant, and a full service event space that focuses on European styles of beer and food. We believe that beer should always be served at its peak of freshness and be full flavored but easy drinking. The ideal candidate will have experience with a 20 BBL brewhouse, or larger, enjoy brewing traditional styles, and have experience in a high volume brewpub. Our Brewmaster can expect to work both independently and side by side with our Director of Operations to produce the highest quality beers. At Guilford Hall we are committed to creating a great place to work, and fostering the growth and development of every member of our team.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated brewing knowledge, either a formal brewing certification and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with a 20BBL brewhouse, or larger is preferred
- Experience designing recipes and maintaining 7 or more styles consistently
- Mechanical aptitude, experience with commissioning and maintaining equipment preferred
- Positive attitude and a problem solving perspective
- Adherence to industry standard best practices and SOPs as well as those specific to Guilford Hall
- Aptitude with Excel, Word, and/or similar programs
- Experience filing and updating brewery taxes and all local government requirements
- Available nights and weekends
- Ability and willingness to talk in front of groups about beer
- Ability and willingness to participate in brewery mentorship programs
