Pooles Island Brewing Co., located in Middle River. MD is seeking to add a member to it’s brewing/FOH crew. We are looking for an entry-level individual to grow with us and contribute to our team in a meaningful way through the execution of a wide range of responsibilities. The position will encompass from cellar duties to service of our taproom guests and everything in between. The position reports directly to Head Brewer and Ownership.
The duties of the job include but are not limited too:Starting Duties:
Keg Cleaning
Floor Maintenance
Tank Shining
Beer line cleaning
Canning line labor
Server/host/beertenderCellar (once trained):
Fermentation management
Beer Transfers
Dry hopping, blending, fruit and spice additions
Tank CIP
Record Keeping
Barrel filling, sampling and maintenance
Sensory and lab analysis
Yeast and Culture managementLogistics and Sales support:
Beer Delivery (once off-premise accounts are acquired)
Occasional attendance and brand support at events (if and when they happen again..)Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and prioritize in an efficient manner
Comfortable working in cold, hot and damp conditions
Ability to work independently
Ability to understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Material Safety Data, Sheets (MSDS)
Ability to communicate positively & effectively with team members across the organization
Somewhat decent understanding of a wide range of beer styles (as well as hybrids)
Strict attention to detail
Ability to work safely around hazardous chemicals
Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 75 lbs., reach over shoulders, and perform repetitive motions
