The Big Truck name and icon promotes the idea of adventure and going past the unknown. We embrace the mindset of hard work and the outdoor life style on the farm.
We wanted to learn the craft of brewing but with growing our own hops. Over 5 years ago we started with just 2 acres of hops and now have 10. The brewing facility and tap room is a 1840’s Timber Frame Barn which use to be a Brick Manufacturing in Ohio. We erected on the highest point on the farm to take advantage of the views. Our commitment to quality and using technology led us to our 7 BBL state of the art Brew House. We completed the Taproom by handcrafting many features ourselves. Like the Tap Tower with custom wrench tap handles.
The 250 acres are a classic Northern Baltimore County farm. We grow unique hops that not only thrive on the east coast climate, but still require constant attention and care to be the best hops possible. Big Truck Farms also grow Barley, Corn, Soy Beans and Sunflowers. At the end of every summer we have the Hop Harvest, which is always amazing to see the hard work become results.
